Thanks Bruce. It can be difficult at times offering a real opinion and keeping your manufacturers happy - but I like to err on the side of providing real, valuable feedback and opinions (and hope that I don't alienate my manufacturers ;)

Hey JT -

Just wanted to say it's great to see a "real" review, by which I mean one that actually spells out both what you liked and didn't like about a product. Sadly, this seems to be becoming a rarity with gear reviews these days. And as a retailer who carries these products and still offers honest personal reviews, you get my respect even more. Keep it up.

Great upland vest pack. I used to use a cabelas vest with cargo back pocket for bird catch. I have a few badland packs and i love them all so when i saw this one for upland i decided to buy one for me and my hunting partner. I used it for the first time this last weekend and was really impressed. Very light, comfortable, non sweaty. Could be a little larger but it works just fine, in fact you could probably do mammal hunting with it as well since there are enough pockets and storage although i am not sure you could support the load of a 180lb boar in the back but it would be fun to try. Great vest pack highly recommended.

JT,
I have been looking at doing a product review on either a Kodiak or a Springbar. I would love to put a Kodiak to the test. If Uplanders would be interested contact me.

Thanks, Dale

Getting your meniscus repaired is no easy matter. Not only will the surgery be a pain, but you'll be in a "soft cast" and cruthes for at least 4 weeks while it heals. I've had my knees reconstructed 3 times and the meniscus worked on the last time. No fun. Good luck with your decision.

The camping trip was quite cold, but the snow depth was nowhere near what we had at the house - a couple inches is all. It was a long night and my feet froze, but a good campout all things considered. The primary reason for the outing was to get my youngest scouts their required one night for their Tenderfoot award. We just had our court of honor last week and our the boys in our troop had 18 rank advancements - an impressive number!

Thankfully, the snow is now gone and the grass is getting green! I am soooo ready for summer!
